Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time HealthCare Administrator to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking Reception Team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected to have a professional approach to reception and administration duties. You will be a vital addition to the smooth running of the practice and will be at the forefront as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Hours of work will be between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Stirchley Medical Practice is based in South East Telford and serves a population of approximately 25,000. We operate across 2 sites with a large primary care team. We value teamwork and are a supportive practice, encouraging all staff to participate in regular breaks and social events.

Job responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patients and healthcare professionals in a friendly and empathetic manner.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls, ensuring prompt and courteous responses to patient queries.
  • Book, cancel, and reschedule appointments efficiently using the clinical system.
  • Care navigate patients to the appropriate appointment at the right time.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide accurate and relevant information.
  • Encourage patients to use the online booking system for appointments and medication requests.
  • Respond to the needs of clinicians during surgery.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • General Practice experience is preferred. Knowledge of EMIS clinical systems is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team, independently, and be flexible.
