Daily duties will involve working on a diverse range of products across FMCG Health & Beauty, being responsible for packaging CSR, structure, and print. With knowledge of price implications of pack changes, you will also look to improve cost prices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the key point of contact and lead on innovation and knowledge for the changing landscape of packaging and recycling. Attend packaging shows, conferences, CSR talks, and undertake comp shops.
  • Review all new pack formats for recyclability according to OPRL standards and reduce/avoid over-packing – work with Suppliers/Buyers to improve.
Structural:
  • Review and approve all pack formats for structural integrity, brand alignment, and on-shelf presence. Feedback and work with suppliers on any required amendments.
Print & Colour Management:
  • Work with Designers/Design Agencies and make recommendations on achieving proposed designs across all pack formats.
  • Arrange and lead pre-artwork meetings with Suppliers/Printers to onboard them with new designs/developments.
  • Decide how best to colour manage each project, set standards, and review options. Attend print runs on key projects.
  • Work with external printers to create proofs and colour standards where appropriate.
  • Review and approve pre- and post-production samples for colour/print compliance.
Artwork:
  • Check all artwork for correct layout, print specifications, FSC certification, and recycling info per latest OPRL guidance.
  • Review electronic proofs sent from printers.
Other:
  • Use packaging/print knowledge to suggest ways to reduce costs.
  • Contribute to process improvements.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as requested by the Design Manager.
