Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate packaging technologist in health and beauty to join an innovative retailer. The role is based at our client's vibrant Head Office, focusing on diverse FMCG Health & Beauty products, responsible for packaging CSR, structure, and print, with an emphasis on cost improvement.

Key Responsibilities

CSR

• Deliver and develop the CSR Packaging Roadmap.
• Lead innovation and knowledge sharing on packaging and recycling; attend relevant events and conduct competitive shops.
• Review new pack formats for recyclability and over-packing, collaborating with suppliers and buyers for improvements.

Structural

• Approve pack formats for structural integrity, brand consistency, and shelf presence; liaise with suppliers for adjustments.

Print & Colour Management

• Collaborate with designers and agencies to optimize designs across formats.
• Lead pre-artwork meetings with suppliers and printers, manage colour standards, and review print samples.

Artwork

• Ensure artwork accuracy regarding layout, specifications, FSC certification, and recycling info.

Other

• Suggest cost-saving packaging solutions.
• Contribute to process improvements and handle ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in packaging technology within retail/FMCG, preferably in health and beauty.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for cross-team liaising.
• Proven success in packaging projects from concept to store.
• Understanding of commercial impacts of packaging design.
