We Are Looking For

Someone who is committed to making a meaningful impact in peoples lives and has a strong understanding of the Principles of Personalised Care and the practices of supported employment.

  • Are you motivated to help individuals overcome health-related challenges and succeed in the workplace?
  • Can you apply clinical expertise while using coaching and motivational techniques to empower individuals to manage their health and achieve their goals?
  • Are you confident working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and building effective partnerships with stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and employers?
  • Could you support employers to improve their ability to manage workforce health conditions, raising awareness of reasonable adjustments, Access to Work and available training and support?

About Pathways To Work

The Barnsley Pathways to Work is a yearlong programme, with potential to extend, and has been set up as a direct response to the Pathways to Work Commission Report, which aims to answer one key question:

How can Barnsley enable all of its working age residents, particularly those further from the labour market, to achieve pathways to employment?

SYHA has secured funding to provide support in Barnsley for people that are economically inactive due to ill health and/or caring responsibilities, and for young adults (aged 18-24) at risk of not entering the labour market. There is also a possibility of the services being provided until 2029, depending on further funding being identified

Were excited that SYHA will be playing a pivotal role across the work and health agenda to support communities across Barnsley to find and thrive in work.

We provide support through comprehensive health and work assessments, helping individuals overcome health-related barriers to employment. Our Pathways to Work services are tailored to a persons their unique needs and circumstances.

We collaborate with mental and physical health teams, primary care networks, DWP and VCSE referral partners to assist individuals who facing difficulties in the workplace. Our services help individuals find the right employment, return to, stay in, or find new employment. Additionally, we can support the individual at their pace with valuable in work support and help to access local resources to improve their wellbeing and re-enter the workforce.

OurHealth at Work Coachesplay a vital role by providing one-on-one coaching, promoting self-management strategies, signposting to relevant services, liaising with businesses. The Health at Work Coach will also explore appropriate interventions to support individuals' employment and wellbeing goals through utilisation of the participant spend budget.

Who You Are

  • Customer led and performance focused
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, prioritisation and observational skills
  • Build rapport easily, empathise and exhibit motivational interviewing and coaching techniques
  • Work collaboratively within a mixed-disciplinary team and with a wide range of stakeholders including health partners and employers
  • Model recovery focused practice including a strengths-based approach, being non-judgemental, and using co-production
