Job Summary

To complete the Protection customers' Health Declaration medical assessment in a timely, accurate, and customer-focused manner. To follow agreed processes ensuring fair outcomes for the customer and compliance with governance requirements. To challenge existing processes professionally and support process improvements that benefit the customer.

What You'll Do
  • Complete the Protection customers' Health Declaration medical assessment efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow established processes to ensure fair outcomes and compliance with governance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve service excellence for the Protection customer.
  • Prepare and issue standard and non-standard customer terms, adjusting templates as needed.
  • Request medical evidence through appropriate mechanisms, including correspondence with customers and third parties.
  • Respond to customer requests and ensure work meets company and customer service standards, complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage queries received via team mailbox within 48 hours.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer experience.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints in line with divisional and regulatory procedures, aiming to improve processes while balancing customer, company, and regulator needs.
Who You Are
  • Experienced in working within a Medical Underwriting Team, capable of assessing individual risk from Health Declarations.
  • Skilled in underwriting multiple Protection product lines with an understanding of underwriting manuals and processes.
  • Knowledgeable about Protection products requiring underwriting input.
  • Committed to continuous learning about industry and market changes.
  • Customer-centric with an inquisitive mindset and the ability to challenge norms.
  • Excellent communicator able to engage with diverse customers and contribute to team success.
  • Capable of managing deadlines and prioritising workload effectively.
Qualifications

GR1 or other industry-recognised qualification (desired).
