Job Title: Health and Social Care/PE Teacher

Job Details:

  • Start Date: 6th October 2025

  • Contract: Full-time, long-term cover until January 2026

  • Pay Rate: 180 to 220+ per day dependent on experience

  • Location: Wigan

We are currently looking for a dedicated and adaptable Health and Social Care/PE Teacher to join a thriving secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to cover a long-term absence and play a key role in supporting students across both subject areas.

The Role:

  • Split timetable (roughly 50/50) across Health and Social Care (GCSE Y10 & Y11) and Core PE.

  • Full-time position following the school's week A/week B rota.

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons to support student progress.

  • Work collaboratively with an experienced Health and Social Care teacher already in post.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching Health and Social Care at GCSE level.

  • Confidence delivering Core PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate learners.

  • A valid enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
