Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a Health and Safety Trainer to design, deliver and evaluate training programmes that raise staff awareness of safe working practices and reduce workplace risks.

You will develop training materials, deliver both practical and classroom sessions, monitor compliance and support safety initiatives across services, promoting a positive safety culture.

Job description

The Health and Safety trainer plays a key role within the Health, Safety and Security Services Team, supporting the Health Board in meeting its statutory and organisational responsibilities for health, safety and staff wellbeing. The post holder will help design, deliver and evaluate a range of health and safety training programmes, ensuring staff have the knowledge, skills and competence required to work safely and minimise workplace risks. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the role involves developing and maintaining training materials, delivering both practical and classroom-based learning, monitoring training compliance, and supporting the achievement of organisational targets and key performance indicators. The post holder will provide guidance and practical instruction to a wide range of staff groups, promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging best practice in health and safety management. In addition to delivering training, the role will support key health and safety initiatives and projects. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, confident trainer, and proactive team member committed to improving health, safety and wellbeing across the Health Board.

• Help design, develop and deliver health, safety and security training programmes.
• Support the achievement of the Health Board's training objectives and compliance requirements.
• Update lesson plans, presentations and training resources to reflect changes in legislation, policy, procedures and equipment as requested by managers.
• Deliver engaging training sessions to a variety of staff groups using both theory and practical methods.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to staff to help them work safely and effectively.
• Under direction coordinate training activities, including course scheduling, participant enrolment and administration.
• Maintain accurate training records, databases and attendance information to monitor compliance and report performance.
• Support health and safety projects, audits and improvement initiatives.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
  The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
