Job description

Health and Safety Officer

Location: Stevenage
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Full-time, hybrid working, 6 month contract

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Health and Safety Officer to join our Facilities Management team. This is a key role supporting contractor compliance, safe delivery of Facilities projects and ensuring robust contractor control and best practice across the business.

You'll work closely with the Facilities Team and wider departments, building strong relationships with contractors across all UK sites. If you're passionate about health and safety and enjoy working in a varied and fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.



What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conducting focused Health & Safety inspections and ensuring timely close-out of actions
  • Supporting audits and reporting on findings
  • Promoting best practice across all FM works and projects
  • Providing guidance to ensure compliance across business activities
  • Planning regular site engagement across all UK locations
  • Managing your own workload proactively and independently


What We're Looking For:

  • Must have NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate
  • Diploma (Level 6 preferred)
  • CSCS Card
  • Auditing qualification (ISO 45001/14001)
  • Excellent experience in construction environments
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and develop practical solutions
  • Experience in investigations, reporting, and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of auditing processes

Pay rate: 25 per hour (umbrella, PAYE rates also available)

Due to nationality restrictions this role requires sole British Citizenship. This role will also involve the successful candidate undergoing a security clearance (SC) process.
