Provide assistance, guidance, and advice on environment, health, and safety matters as the business requires.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the relationship with the Health and Safety Executive and lead HSE Audits, closing out items raised in a timely manner and identifying improvements.
- Drive a culture of safety engagement across the HSW departments, building relationships across the site, driving initiatives, and communicating successes to all.
- Manage the COSHH manual in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Manage and submit data in compliance with Packaging Waste Regulations.
- Carry out EHS inspections and audits on and off site as necessary, identifying opportunities for remedial action and continuous improvements as well as covering legal and other requirements.
- Aid in the completion of accident investigations to identify root causes, helping to provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrence that are reasonable and practicable.
- Review policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure they are aligned with the management system and monitor compliance.
- Identify and keep records related to EHS, including ISO 14001 standard, waste, water, energy, and carbon footprinting.
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety Network to ensure compliance with company policy and operation to Best Practice standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outsourced HS&E providers, where necessary streamlining operating standards.
- Maintain EHS systems and seek continuous improvement.
- Identify new technologies and best practices that positively impact HSW’s safety culture and environmental footprint, owning initiatives through to completion and implementation.
- Develop and deliver training for EHS requirements.
- Participate actively as a member of the HSW’s Plant Leadership Team (PLT).
- Handle departmental administration as necessary.
