Health & Safety Officer Role:
We're seeking a dedicated, organised and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our team.
The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and continually improving health & safety standards across the organisation. This includes but is not limited to our office based, warehouse based and onsite based business activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and further develop the organisation’s Health & Safety Management System.
- Maintain Eclipse’s ISO 9001 and 45001 qualifications.
- Involvement in project work; carrying out project specific risk assessments, method statements and event safety plans in conjunction with the project teams.
- Onsite health & safety management where required, including toolbox talks.
- Liaise with clients, venues and local authorities where appropriate.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of business activities, to ensure compliance.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, reporting on findings and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver health & safety training across the business, including contractors where appropriate.
- Advise on safe systems of work across production disciplines, including rigging, staging, scenic, AV installations and power distribution.
- In conjunction with our Warehouse teams, ensure equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to compliant industry standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry specific HSE guidelines and legislation.
- Aid in maintaining GDPR compliance across the organisation.
Experience Required:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably within live events or entertainment.
- Familiarity with ISO accreditations and maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and CDM regulations.
- Writing and delivering RAMS.
- Conducting audits and associated reporting.
- Managing incident reporting structures.
- Clear and confident communicator.
- Strong decision-making capacity.
- Comfortable with flexible working hours when required, to satisfy onsite commitments.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
