About the Role

Provide assistance, guidance, and advice on environment, health, and safety matters as the business requires.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with the Health and Safety Executive, lead HSE audits, close out items raised promptly, and identify improvements.
• Drive a culture of safety engagement across the HSW departments, build relationships across the site, promote initiatives, and communicate successes.
• Manage the COSHH manual in accordance with legislation.
• Manage and submit data complying with Packaging Waste Regulations.
• Conduct EHS inspections and audits on and off-site, identify opportunities for remedial actions and continuous improvements, ensuring legal and other requirements are met.
• Assist in accident investigations to identify root causes and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Review policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure alignment with the management system and verify data and compliance.
• Record and manage data related to EHS, including ISO 14001 standards, waste, water, energy, and carbon footprinting.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety Network to ensure compliance with company policies and best practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with outsourced HS&E providers, streamlining standards where necessary.
• Maintain and improve EHS systems continuously.
• Identify new technologies and best practices to enhance safety culture and environmental impact, leading initiatives to completion.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
• Participate actively as a member of the HSW’s Plant Leadership Team (PLT).
• Handle departmental administration as needed.
