We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer to support our QHSE department. This hybrid role requires a strong grasp of health and safety practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to foster a proactive safety culture.

Location: Hybrid (Remote with site and head office visits) Ability to travel extensively to and from sites, and various assignments, is required.

We are specialised in proposing and executing revamping and repowering projects to enhance the performance of the assets we operate.

We have a dedicated internal team of specifically qualified, multi-disciplined engineers boasting significant expertise, all of whom are solution providers.

Main responsibilities

  • Reviewing and managing risk assessments, method statement and permit to work.
  • Evaluate and update existing Health and Safety procedures to align with new legislations or policy changes.
  • Provide guidance, support, technical information and assistance to sub-contractors who work on our sites.
  • Collaborate with departments and the Head of Health and Safety to develop and implement effective, best practice safety systems.
  • Supporting accident/incident investigations, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Near Miss and Incidents to ensure safe working procedures are being followed in respect to Company Policy and UK Legislation and Regulations.
  • Perform regular site inspections/audits and prepare detailed reports for the Head of Health and Safety.
  • Identify and highlight trends from Health and Safety visits, inspections, and reports, and review related risk assessments and controls.

This role will report directly to QHSE and Business Administrative Manager

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience working in a Health and Safety environment.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
  • Experience or an understanding of the Electrical or Solal PV sector would be of benefit, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety standards and legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are a strong advantage.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 would be of benefit.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
