Job Description
GBR Recruitment Limited is working exclusively with a leading, quality-focused construction business (an employer of choice) to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee HSE across multiple UK construction sites.
As the H&S Manager, your responsibilities include ensuring strict adherence to all HSE measures and protocols across all live sites, developing HSE processes and procedures, and monitoring site compliance.
HSE Manager Duties:
- Promote health and safety across all construction sites and foster a positive safety culture, including occupational health, mental health, and accident prevention.
- Implement HSE changes across sites.
- Update the HSE management system, including policies and procedures.
- Produce and implement PCIP & CPHSP documentation.
- Ensure compliance with current CDM 2015 regulations and the Building Safety Act.
- Conduct unannounced HSE site inspections.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety legislation.
- Lead health and safety meetings with senior management.
- Report incidents, accidents, and work-related ill health issues to HSE as per RIDDOR requirements.
- Communicate insurance-related matters promptly with the Director of Health & Safety.
- Report HSE breaches to Site Managers and senior staff.
- Oversee and amend the company's health and safety training programs, including scheduling classroom and e-learning sessions.
- Manage occupational health surveillance and wellbeing initiatives.
- Collaborate with enforcing authorities and communicate relevant information to the Director of Health & Safety.
Attributes:
- Extensive construction health and safety management experience, particularly in housing (NHBC).
- Strong experience in accident investigation and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills to engage staff at all levels.
- Ability to implement HSE initiatives and deliver practical solutions.
- Experience with PCIP & CPHSP documentation and assessments.
- Ability to manage multiple HSE projects effectively.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Professional approach and leadership in HSE.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Experience with occupational health and wellbeing support.
- Certificates such as NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ, or equivalent are required.
- IOSH (GradIOSH) or higher certification is essential.
- Diploma in Health & Safety preferred.
