Job description

  • Carry out regular inspections of the stadium, training ground, and club premises to ensure safe conditions for staff, players, and the public, and check that operational policies and procedures are properly implemented daily.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop associated method statements for all business functions.
  • Ensure that working practices at the club are safe and comply with legislation.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on health and safety performance, KPIs, and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate health and safety training and promote understanding among staff.
  • Maintain accident and incident reporting systems, conduct statistical analysis, and ensure investigations are undertaken with recommendations implemented.
  • Create, implement, and review comprehensive health and safety policies in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with relevant parties regarding health and safety at the club.
  • Schedule and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of planned maintenance works, working with the Facilities Team to ensure compliance and workplace improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the stadium to enable efficient working practices.
  • Undertake ad-hoc requests and demonstrate operational flexibility.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The role reports directly to the Head of Operations and is a key member of the Operations Team, with responsibilities across both the stadium and training ground. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and possesses initiative, with flexible analytical and problem-solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
  • National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (desirable but not essential)
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to facilities management and health and safety
  • Legal right to work in the UK (permanent UK resident or valid work authorization)

The role is part-time, working 22.5 hours per week.

The pro-rata annual salary ranges from £19,200 to £22,800, depending on qualifications and experience. The full-time equivalent salary is between £32,000 and £38,000.

We are open to discussing hours if the candidate wishes to work more than 22.5 hours.
