Health and Safety Manager


Channel Islands

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a well-established main contractor. In this role, you'll oversee health, safety, and welfare across various projects, working closely with the board of directors.


This is a hands-on position where you'll help shape safety culture and drive continuous improvement. The role offers relocation to the Channel Islands, combining career growth with lifestyle benefits.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental systems, ensuring legislative compliance and safety improvements.
  • Conducting inspections, managing risk assessments, and establishing safe work practices.
  • Investigating accidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Delivering safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training for staff and contractors.
  • Ensuring welfare facilities, fire safety, Construction Phase Plans, lifting operations, PPE use, and compliance with PUWER/LOLER regulations.


Requirements:

  • Experience managing health and safety in construction environments, with knowledge of UK legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
  • Strong motivation to relocate to the Channel Islands within 1–2 months, with limited financial ties.
  • Proven expertise in risk assessments, site inspections, safety systems, supported by relevant qualifications (NEBOSH preferred), First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid driving license.
