Description
- Working in partnership with the management teams to ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Environmental statutory requirements, management procedures, and company strategy.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and continuously improve working practices and work instructions, ensuring consistency of HSE management across the organisation.
- Managing incident investigations, cause analysis, and ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Developing and managing branch management plans using a risk-based approach, engaging site teams to deliver targeted improvement initiatives.
- Managing data submissions related to environmental permit requirements.
- Taking active ownership of HSE risk management processes, ensuring stakeholder involvement.
- Identifying opportunities to digitalise HSE processes and practices.
- Supporting contractor management and permits, ensuring effective risk management strategies are deployed.
- Implementing waste recycling initiatives, ensuring proper waste management practices, documenting procedures, and checking waste contractor licenses.
Profile
A successful HSE professional should have:
- Experience in a cross-functional, multi-sector environment.
- Detailed knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ideally in materials handling, processing, and distribution environments.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing HSE systems.
- An understanding of Risk Management principles, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
- Experience conducting system and compliance audits, supported by relevant qualifications.
- Sound commercial and technical decision-making skills.
- A solutions-focused approach using proven problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of UK HS & Enviro Law in manufacturing and facility operations, ISO14001 & ISO45001 standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner across all levels of staff.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
