Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Health and Safety advice to staff.
• Develop and review Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Support risk assessments, audits and inspections with improvements.
• Assist investigations and advise on RIDDOR reporting where required.
• Deliver Health and Safety training for employees and volunteers.
• Support contractor Health and Safety arrangements.
• Chair Health and Safety meetings and prepare reports for senior management.
• Support fire safety arrangements including drills and evacuation procedures.

Principal People are delighted to be recruiting a Health and Safety Manager to join a well-established charitable organisation based in North West London.

This company provides healthcare services and support to people across the local community with a large network of employees and volunteers working across a diverse property portfolio, including a main operational site, warehouse, and retail locations.

This is a newly created, standalone position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to take real ownership of the function, becoming the organisation's internal point of expertise and helping shape how Health & Safety is managed moving forward.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing practical Health and Safety advice and guidance to staff.
• Developing and reviewing Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Supporting and completing risk assessments, audits, and inspections - identifying areas for improvement.
• Supporting incident investigations and advising on RIDDOR reporting where required.
• Delivering Health and Safety training for employees and volunteers.
• Supporting contractor Health and Safety arrangements.
• Supporting and chairing Health and Safety meetings and producing safety reports for senior management.
• Supporting fire safety arrangements, including training, drills, and evacuation procedures.
• Promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
