Abatec is assisting a highly reputable Civil Engineering contractor with the recruitment of a Health & Safety Manager to be an integral part of their company and ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and legislation are upheld across the business.

My client, with a turnover of £30 million, delivers utility projects across Devon and Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that delivers work on behalf of South West Water and National Grid.

As Health & Safety Manager, you will:

• Be a driving force in developing innovative ways to promote Health & Safety awareness and culture.
• Provide advice and expertise on project-based Health & Safety issues/occurrences.
• Be proactive in offering improvements and development to incident plans.
• Be an advocate of Health and Safety culture by providing training and consultation.
• Work with subcontractors, vetting them before works are conducted, and monitor and report on conduct during delivery of multiple projects.

Our client is looking for a Health and Safety Manager with:

• Relevant H&S Qualifications (NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate – minimum).
• Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering / Construction methods.
• Strong team management and time management skills.
• Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.
