Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is the operational name of Aneurin Bevan University Local Health Board. The Health Board was established on the 1st October 2009 and covers the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys.

The Health Board employs over 13,000 staff, two thirds of whom are involved in direct patient care. There are more than 250 consultants in a total of over 1000 hospital and general practice doctors, 6,000 nurses, midwives, allied professionals and community workers. The Health Board is led by the Chairman, non-executive directors, the Chief Executive and other executive directors. The Board is supported by the Senior Management Team.

Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Corporate Health and Safety Department at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We are seeking an experienced professional to join the department as the Health and Safety Manager to work closely with internal/external stakeholders promoting health and safety across the organisation. The post holder will be required to manage all aspects of health and safety delivery within the Health Board to legislative, regulatory and agreed organisational quality standards. The Health and Safety Manager is required to support with the monitoring of the health and safety management system and be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of policy and reporting of any non-compliance.
The post holder will be required to ensure all aspects of health and safety risk assessments are undertaken and any identified risks operationally managed. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated, but able to work collaboratively within the department. The post holder should have a passion for health and safety, a can-do attitude, a team-focused outlook and have the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
