Trainee Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Cambridge–based with travel to construction sites
Salary: Competitive

Fairmead is recruiting a Trainee Health & Safety Advisor to support a well–established main contractor with a strong track record of delivering high–quality construction projects across the UK.

This opportunity is ideal for someone in the early stages of their health and safety career who is eager to develop within a dynamic and supportive construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Site and Health & Safety Managers with health and safety compliance across construction sites.
  2. Contribute to the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  3. Support the coordination and tracking of RFIs (Requests for Information) related to health and safety.
  4. Assist with the collation of information for Health & Safety Files and project documentation.
  5. Help identify and assess on–site risks, contributing to proactive safety planning.
  6. Maintain accurate health and safety records in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
  7. Liaise with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure best practice is followed.
  8. Support the management of third–party safety consultants and service providers.
  9. Promote a positive safety culture across all sites.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Strong communication skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
  2. Comfortable using digital systems and software for data entry, reporting, and document management.
  3. Either working towards or already holding a Health & Safety or Construction Safety qualification (must be included in your application).
