Health and Safety Manager

Location: Bourne – full–time on–site

Rate: Negotiable on experience

Duration: 2–3 months

The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations across multiple sites. In this role you will act as a strategic leader for change, safety implementation and development, while working closely the senior leadership to implement this change to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Our client are one of the leading providers of Environmental and Sustainability solutions to a wide range of industries across the UK and Ireland. Primarily centred around Waste Management, they are expanding rapidly in the fields of Resource Recovery and Circular Economy, ensuring nothing truly goes to waste. They are leading key UK and Ireland sustainability projects as they look to recycle more materials ranging from Metals, Plastics and Oil through to Hazardous Waste and identifying ways to utilise these to create clean energy and fully recycled products.

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety policies, procedures, and performance standards on–site.
• Lead incident investigations and offer support to management and colleagues when needed.
• Take the lead in developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures to align with legal obligations and industry best practices.
• Conduct thorough inspections and audits, diligently monitoring recommendations and driving the implementation of improvements.
• Play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional growth.

What We Are Looking For?

• Demonstrated experience of working within a Health and Safety Management role within waste, recycling, or mass production/manufacturing industries is highly advantageous
• Strong communication skills
• Autonomous and can work along without support
• The ability to lead and influence others.
• You must be a strategic thinker with a hands–on approach and a demonstrable track record of leadership impact.
