Job Opportunity: Health and Safety Lead

Due to the company’s ongoing expansion and healthy project pipeline, they are now seeking to hire a new member for the health and safety team. The successful candidate will lead the team, implementing company health and safety policies, preparing risk assessments, and conducting on-site inspections to ensure safety compliance and legal adherence.

You will work within the infrastructure division on various projects, including the multi-utility diversion works for HS2, one of the UK's largest and most challenging rail construction projects. The initial contract is 3.5 years, with potential for extension.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring staff are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, providing advice as needed.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations following company procedures, analyzing data, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
  • Experience in utilities with tier 1 or tier 2 companies, demonstrating stability (minimum 3 years at each company).
  • Experience in highways maintenance, water, or general utilities.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • UK driving license.
  • Experience working for a tier 2 civil engineering contractor with a stable employment record.
