Health and Safety Lead

Location: Suffolk (Hybrid working)
Permanent Competitive salary + bonus & excellent benefits.
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

We re looking for a CDM Lead (Assurance) to join the team delivering one of the UK s most significant infrastructure projects. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a nationally important project that will help power 6 million homes and support the UK's journey to net zero.
In this role, you ll provide leadership and oversight on compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring health, safety and design risk management standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll bring:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
  • Chartered or working towards (e.g. CMIOSH, CMaPS)
  • Deep knowledge of CDM 2015 and experience applying it to large-scale, high-risk construction projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in nuclear, energy, or major infrastructure environments is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver assurance activities related to CDM 2015 compliance
  • Monitor and assess design and construction safety practices across the project
  • Review contractor and designer CDM documentation and practices
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety, design risk management, and CDM responsibilities
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture
  • Produce reports, highlight risks, and recommend corrective actions where necessary
  • Support audits and inspections across the project lifecycle
