Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Health and Safety and Facilities Officer for Hull. You will support ISO management systems, coordinate safety meetings and oversee site facilities projects to drive safety and efficiency.

The role focuses on building a safer workplace culture, incident investigations, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers. Salary £33,000-£36,000, Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in a health and safety role (Officer/Coordinator/Advisor/Administrator).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for reports and record-keeping.
• Collaborative approach across teams and levels of seniority.
• Clear communication and practical problem-solving to improve workplace standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including audit preparation, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate health and safety meetings, monitor actions, investigate incidents and produce clear reports and performance updates.
• Manage site facilities requirements, identify maintenance priorities and coordinate improvement projects within budgets/timescales.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and external suppliers to deliver facilities projects safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Review and improve workplace procedures, support risk management and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.

Working closely with colleagues across operations, quality and senior leadership, you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible difference to employee wellbeing, site facilities and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity:

As a Health and Safety and Facilities Officer, you’ll play a key role in:

• Supporting and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including audit preparation, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Coordinating health and safety meetings, monitoring actions, investigating workplace incidents and producing clear reports and performance updates.
• Managing site facilities requirements, identifying maintenance priorities and coordinating improvement projects within agreed budgets and timescales.
• Working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and external suppliers to ensure facilities projects are delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Reviewing and improving workplace procedures, supporting risk management and promoting a culture where everyone feels responsible for health, safety and wellbeing.

Your work will directly contribute to creating a safer, more efficient and supportive working environment, helping colleagues thrive while ensuring the business continues to meet its operational and compliance responsibilities.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

• A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent qualification or working towards this qualification
• Experience within a Health and Safety function whether it be as an Officer, Coordinator, Advisor or Administrator looking to take the next step
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise responsibilities, manage competing demands and maintain attention to detail.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, maintain records and communicate information clearly.
• A collaborative approach, with the ability to build positive working relationships across different teams and levels of seniority.
• Clear communication skills, a practical approach to problem-solving and an interest in improving workplace standards.

Experience in manufacturing, facilities management, risk assessment or ISO management systems would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience who are keen to develop their skills.
