Job summary

Irwin & Colton Limited in London is seeking a Health and Safety Director to shape global health, safety and environmental standards. You will develop strategic HSE systems, drive governance, and foster a proactive safety culture across the organisation and its customers.

The role leads the global HSE framework, audits, due diligence for regulatory changes and M&A, and partners with regional teams to deliver consistent standards while pursuing business bids.

Qualifications

• Experience with ISO management systems and HSE governance.
• Global HSE leadership with international travel experience.
• Audits, incident investigations and regulatory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining the global HSE management system aligned with international standards, including ISO accreditations.
• Monitoring and analysing HSE metrics and KPIs to track performance trends and identify areas for improvement on a global scale.
• Leading internal assurance activities, including audits and incident investigations, to embed best practices.
• Leading the delivery of regulatory compliance, changes, and M&A due diligence.
• Collaborating with global teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure consistent HSE standards across regions.
• Delivery of commercial goals for the team, including involvement in bids for new business and tender closings.

We are supporting a global leader in real estate and facilities management to recruit a Health and Safety Director; focussing on delivering global Assurance and Governance. This pivotal role involves leading the development and maintenance of a comprehensive HSE management system framework, ensuring compliance and fostering a proactive safety culture across the organisation, as well as delivered to its customers.

The key responsibilities include:

• Establishing and maintaining the organisation's global HSE management system aligned with international standards, including ISO accreditations.

• Monitoring and analysing HSE metrics and KPIs to track performance trends and identify areas of improvement on a strategic, global scale.

• Leading internal assurance activities, including audits and incident investigations, to embed best practices.

• Leading the delivery of regulatory compliance, changes, and M&A activities with detailed due diligence

• Collaborating with global teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure consistent HSE standards across regions.

• Delivery commercial goals for the team, with involvement on bids for new business and tender closes.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Robust knowledge of international HSE standards, regulations, and management systems experience, with credible examples when asked.

• True global experience with international travel, not just delivering projects remotely

• Extensive experience leading global HSE strategies within complex, dynamic organisations.

• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and audit management skills.

• NEBOSH Diploma qualified (equivalent) and a Certified IOSH Member ship as a minimum
