In this pivotal role, you will ensure QHEST remains compliant with key management standards and evolving legal requirements, while championing its continual improvement.

You will take ownership of managing the Group audit process, ensuring robust assurance of the system and its effective application across the business. Acting as the central point of contact, you will work closely with Brett employees, external certification bodies, and other stakeholders on all matters relating to QHEST — from system updates and internal audits to external reviews and ongoing enhancements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for maintaining high standards in safety, health, environment, and quality management.

This role will be based on-site at our Canterbury head office.

About Your Role
  • Support the Group SHE Manager in the effective operation of the Brett Group SHEQ management system (QHEST).
  • Ensure QHEST is maintained in line with published management standards (e.g., ISO), relevant legislation, and best practice.
  • Manage the Group audit programme, providing assurance of compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as the primary contact for employees, external certification bodies, and other stakeholders on all matters relating to QHEST.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Drive continual improvement of the QHEST system by monitoring updates, identifying gaps, and implementing enhancements.
  • Provide clear guidance and communication to business units on SHEQ requirements and system updates.
  • Collate, monitor, and report on SHEQ performance data to support informed decision-making.
