Circle Health Group Limited – Monthly is seeking a Health and Safety Cluster Advisor to join the Health & Safety team at Thornbury Hospital. The role covers a flexible shift pattern across six sites located between Huddersfield, Darlington and Nottingham, with a 37.5-hour week and a permanent contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear advice to Senior Management Teams on compliance with obligations under applicable legislation, guidance and policies and assist with implementation.
• Demonstrate compliance with health and safety standards to CHG's regulators and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HSCL to improve safety performance and compliance across cluster sites.
• Coordinate in achieving designated HS time allocation for each site in the cluster.
• Identify and share lessons learned after incidents in the cluster.
• Contribute to corporate projects, policies and training related to health and safety.
• Escalate intolerable health & safety risks to Operational Manager/Director and propose improvements.

Health and Safety Cluster Advisor

Thornbury Hospital

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Cluster Advisor to join their team of staff in the Health & Safety department.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern, covering six sites located between Huddersfield, Darlington, and Nottingham.

The role is considered entry-level, and we welcome applications from candidates with a range of relevant experience.

Duties of this role include:

• You give clear advice to Senior Management Teams (SMTs) in your cluster of sites, on compliance with obligations under applicable legislation, guidance and policies and actively assist and support with its implementation.
• You can help demonstrate an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to CHG's regulators, i.e., the CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, local government agents and other stakeholders as required.
• You effectively collaborate and communicate with the HSCL on meeting objectives to improve health and safety performance, consistency and compliance across your shared cluster sites.
• You cooperate and coordinate in achieving the designated H&S time allocation (attendance) for each site in your cluster with the HSCL.
• You assist in identifying and sharing lessons learned following incidents in your cluster of sites
• You contribute where required to corporate projects and initiatives e.g. CHG policies and procedural development, research, training etc.
• You escape intolerable H&S risks to the Operational Manager/Director and make practicable recommendations for improvement

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Candidates should have either healthcare experience with some Health & Safety exposure, or more substantial experience in a Health & Safety role
• A Level 3 qualification is desirable; however, candidates who are currently working towards this qualification will also be considered
• H&S professional registration (IOSH) or willingness to apply for professional registration.
• Fire safety skills.
• Competency as a Risk Assessor.
• Contractor safety management skills.
• RCA / Incident investigation skills.
• Experience undertaking audits.
