Job summary

Principal People Recruitment seeks a Health and Safety Advisor to join a North Wales utilities contractor during a period of growth. You\'ll provide practical HSE guidance across sites, support operational teams, and help raise standards in a varied portfolio.

Operating across sites with some home working and regional offices, you’ll conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; enjoy development opportunities and a clear long‑term career path within a supportive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Health and safety experience within utilities, telecoms, construction, civil engineering, highways or similar.
• NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
• Hands-on operational experience within utilities sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Health and Safety guidance across multiple sites.
• Work with operational teams to improve standards.
• Carry out audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Support incident investigations and implement preventative measures.

The organisation is open to an experienced Health and Safety professional or someone with hands‑on utilities experience who is looking to build a career in Health and Safety.

For an aspiring Advisor, you ll receive the training, support and exposure needed to develop into the position.

Operating across sites predominantly in North Wales, you ll manage your own schedule between site visits, home working and supporting a local offices throughout the region.

What you ll be doing:

• Providing practical Health and Safety guidance across multiple sites
• Working closely with operational teams and managers to improve standards
• Carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments
• Supporting incident investigations and the implementation of preventative measures
• Contributing to regional Health and Safety initiatives
• Promoting a positive and consistent safety culture across the business

They are open to candidates from either of the following backgrounds:

• Health and Safety experience within utilities, telecommunications, construction, civil engineering, highways or a similar environment
• NEBOSH General, NEBOSH Construction or equivalent

Or:

• Hands‑on operational experience within the utilities sector and a genuine ambition to move into Health and Safety.
