Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor for North Wales to support a leading Civils & Utilities contractor. You will work across sites, visit locations, and support a regional health and safety function with strong progression opportunities.

The role offers a salary of £40,000 to £50,000, a company car or car allowance, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a private pension, a discretionary bonus and excellent long-term development prospects.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing health and safety across multiple sites.
• Ability to work with operational teams to raise standards.
• Experience with incident investigations and preventative measures.
• Preference for utilities, civil engineering or construction backgrounds.

The organisation is open to an experienced Health and Safety professional or someone with hands-on utilities experience who is looking to build a career in Health and Safety.

For an aspiring Advisor, you'll receive the training, support and exposure needed to develop into the position.

Operating across sites predominantly in North Wales, you'll manage your own schedule between site visits, home working and supporting a local offices throughout the region.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing practical Health and Safety guidance across multiple sites
• Working closely with operational teams and managers to improve standards
• Carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments
• Supporting incident investigations and the implementation of preventative measures
• Contributing to regional Health and Safety initiatives
• Promoting a positive and consistent safety culture across the business

They are open to candidates from either of the following backgrounds:

• Health and Safety experience within utilities, telecommunications, construction, civil engineering, highways or a similar environment
• NEBOSH General, NEBOSH Construction or equivalent
• Hands‑on operational experience within the utilities sector and a genuine ambition to move into Health and Safety.
