Job Description:

KierBAM is a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth and are seeking an experienced H&S Advisor.

Contract: Permanent Full-Time, with options for remote work or a local Kier office.

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks are required—BPSS level clearance, which can take up to 8 weeks.

Responsibilities of a Health and Safety Advisor:

Supporting the Devonport Dockyard team by promoting, delivering, and auditing HS&E policies to ensure legal compliance.

Your daily tasks will include:

• Supporting H&S managers in promoting and implementing policies and procedures.
• Assisting in developing and implementing project H&S objectives, campaigns, and initiatives.
• Producing monthly and annual H&S performance reports.
• Conducting regular health and safety inspections and audits.
• Reporting, investigating, and closing out incidents, near misses, and accidents in a timely manner.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you have:

• Relevant H&S NVQ, IOSH, NEBOSH (preferably Construction), or equivalent qualifications.
• Membership of a professional institution (e.g., Tech IOSH or higher).
• Accident investigation qualifications (e.g., Kelvin TOPSET, ROSPA, NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation).
• Experience in auditing to ISO45001 standards.
