Job description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for employees on various construction projects including retail, and heritage sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
• Provide advice and guidance to employees and management on health and safety best practices
• Deliver training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and promote a safety-conscious culture
• Investigate incidents and near misses, and provide recommendations for preventive measures
• Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and ensure organizational compliance
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain a positive safety culture

Day-to-day As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will spend your days conducting site inspections, providing guidance to employees, and collaborating with various teams to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering training sessions, staying up to date with industry regulations, and advocating for a positive safety culture within the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, particularly within the construction industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Relevant certifications, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, are highly desirable
• Knowledge of retail and heritage site safety protocols is a plus
