About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to support civil engineering projects across the Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid H&S experience in the construction or civils sector who's looking to work across varied sites and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing safety standards.

The role is based within a well–established civils division, reporting into a senior HSEQ Manager. While the main office is based in Rotherham, this is a regional role requiring regular travel to project sites – primarily across the Midlands.

  • Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety procedures

  • Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)

  • Supporting teams in the development of safe working practices

  • Promoting a strong, proactive health & safety culture across all projects

  • Conducting audits, reviewing H&S documentation, and reporting findings

  • Providing support and guidance to project managers and site teams on all aspects of HSEQ

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a health & safety role within construction or civil engineering

  • Demonstrated understanding of site–based H&S procedures, inspections, and risk assessments

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail

  • Able to work independently while engaging effectively with wider project teams

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential due to regional travel requirements)

Qualifications Required:

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential)

  • CSCS card (desirable)

Additional Information:

  • Company vehicle provided (role involves over 5,000 business miles annually)

  • Primarily Midlands–based travel, with flexibility required across the wider North region

  • This role does not include on–call or overtime hours

  • Reporting line: Reports directly to the Regional HSEQ Manager

If you're passionate about site safety and want to be part of a forward–thinking team delivering major civils projects, we want to hear from you.
