Job Type: Full–time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Travel Required: Yes – regional (vehicle provided)
We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to support civil engineering projects across the Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid H&S experience in the construction or civils sector who's looking to work across varied sites and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing safety standards.
The role is based within a well–established civils division, reporting into a senior HSEQ Manager. While the main office is based in Rotherham, this is a regional role requiring regular travel to project sites – primarily across the Midlands.
Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety procedures
Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Supporting teams in the development of safe working practices
Promoting a strong, proactive health & safety culture across all projects
Conducting audits, reviewing H&S documentation, and reporting findings
Providing support and guidance to project managers and site teams on all aspects of HSEQ
Ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience in a health & safety role within construction or civil engineering
Demonstrated understanding of site–based H&S procedures, inspections, and risk assessments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail
Able to work independently while engaging effectively with wider project teams
Full UK Driving Licence (essential due to regional travel requirements)
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential)
CSCS card (desirable)
Company vehicle provided (role involves over 5,000 business miles annually)
Primarily Midlands–based travel, with flexibility required across the wider North region
This role does not include on–call or overtime hours
Reporting line: Reports directly to the Regional HSEQ Manager
