Job description

O'Neill & Brennan are working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor with an exceptional reputation for delivering large-scale commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued project growth in London, they are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their on-site team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive business that values safety, innovation, and career development.

The Role:

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld across one or more major M&E projects in London. You’ll work closely with site teams, project managers, and the principal contractor to promote a proactive H&S culture and ensure full compliance with company and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of the company’s HSE policies and procedures on site

  • Assist with the preparation and review of RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours

  • Deliver toolbox talks and site inductions

  • Ensure PPE compliance and monitor usage across the workforce

  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses

  • Monitor plant and equipment safety, including inspections and checks

  • Maintain H&S records, reports, and documentation in line with ISO and company standards

  • Liaise with the project management team and subcontractors on H&S-related issues

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and behavioural safety

Requirements:

Essential:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction or M&E sector

  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations

  • Ability to influence, engage, and drive a positive safety culture

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor or on large-scale M&E projects

  • First Aid at Work certification

  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Awareness (training can be provided)
