Job Description:

Health And Safety Advisor

Location: Midlands & Outer London (Field-based, Multi-site)

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

A leading multi-site industrial group is seeking a Health And Safety Advisor to support its plant operations across the Midlands and Greater London area. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced safety professional who is comfortable operating independently across multiple sites and influencing operational teams to deliver continuous improvement.

The Role:

As a key member of the HSE team, you will partner with site leadership to ensure compliance, identify risk, and promote a proactive safety culture. Regular travel between heavy industrial sites is required, and success will depend on your ability to manage safety autonomously while engaging and educating others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety inspections
  • Support and lead on LOTO procedures, confined space entry, working at height, and other high-risk activities
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and legal obligations
  • Lead or support accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up corrective actions
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training sessions to improve awareness and behaviour
  • Develop site-specific safety plans and support implementation of HSE initiatives
  • Work closely with operational leaders to drive accountability and resolve audit findings
  • Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reports for internal and regulatory use
  • Monitor contractor compliance and support contractor onboarding and inductions
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practices

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
  • Background in heavy plant, industrial, waste, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing health and safety across multiple operational sites
  • Comfortable working autonomously and managing through influence
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport across operational and leadership teams
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region
