Job Description
Location: Nelson (Travel required to other offices)
Working Hours: 8:30 - 17:00 (37.5 hours)
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
The Health and Safety Advisor will provide consistent and reliable support through the execution of all daily administrative tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role will manage and oversee key safety-related staff groups including First Aiders, Fire Marshals, and Mental Health First Aiders. It will also involve close collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager on documentation, internal communications, and intranet content. Additionally, the role will help drive the Health and Safety Committee and support site and facilities management audits when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct all daily administrative tasks.
- Manage and oversee groups such as:
- First Aiders
- Fire Marshals
- Mental Health First Aiders
- Support the Health and Safety Manager on tasks such as:
- Site and job-based documentation
- Internal communications
- Staff Intranet H&S Articles
- Accident and Incident reporting and investigating
- Drive and coordinate the Health and Safety Committee.
- Assist with site and facilities management audits when necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 certification in H&S e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate – Essential
- Level 6 Diploma in H&S e.g., NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational H&S Management Professionals – Desirable
- Experience with Risk and DSE Assessments
- Maintenance of H&S Management Systems
- Approachable, with good interpersonal skills
- Organised with attention to detail
- Confidence to advise based on UK laws and regulations
