Health and Safety Advisor

We are currently looking to appoint a Health and Safety Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our established team and work with us to deliver great customer service and ongoing support to our clients.

YMD Boon is a high-profile independent, multi-professional consultancy practice with over 50 years’ experience. We provide dedicated services from architectural design, building surveying, project management, maintenance, and health and safety.

The Role:

• To provide comprehensive in-field support for H&S Management to a range of clients including education, retail, and construction as well as any other clients of the organisation as required.
• On-site supporting clients to ensure their working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
• Support in the development of local policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Undertake management audits/reviews, producing reports that suggest improvements.
• Produce reports to suggest improvements to management.
• Support property-related health and safety matters including fire safety, asbestos, and legionella management.
• The delivery and development of a range of CPD accredited H&S training including asbestos management, accident investigation, and manual handling.
• Undertake and support accident investigations including production of reports, and reporting under RIDDOR as required.
• Produce newsletters and bulletins.
• Maintain visible records of client visits.
• Liaise and support with internal colleagues on matters of health and safety.
• Maintain cloud-based platforms for eLearning and incident reporting.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Experience within a similar outsourced health and safety support role.
• Around 2/3 years’ experience in health and safety as a minimum.
• A minimum of a NEBOSH qualification must be held to be fully competent in the role.
• Holds CertIOSH (working towards CMIOSH).
• Experience in the education sector would be advantageous.
• Comfortable with digital and cloud-based systems.
• You must have strong interpersonal skills as this is a client-facing role.
• Be a team player and support the wider team if necessary.
• Be flexible.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be open to travel to client sites.
