Overview

My client is looking for another Health & Safety (H&S) advisor to work with one of their largest clients WBD – a global giant in the world of media and film. The role will be primarily located in central London and other sites within the M25. Working from home is permitted when not required to be in the office.

The person they are looking for will be NEBOSH qualified, have a creative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire others. They will be a problem–solver, not a problem–maker. Very different to the typical safety police type. They will not be feared. Instead, clients will always be pleased to see them.

Purpose of Job:

Supporting my clients Head of Health and Safety, the Health and Safety Consultant will be responsible for delivering an outstanding H&S consultancy service specifically to WBD.

Offering expert advice and guidance and support, this role is to support clients in managing and reducing health and safety risks in their places of work , as well as providing best practice advice to manage internal health and safety processes more efficiently.

Key Tasks / Accountabilities:

  • Conduct site visits, inspections and compliance audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
  • Provide onsite or remote H&S management and consultancy support to WBD.
  • Develop and implement bespoke health and safety processes and procedures for WBD that
  • comply with current applicable legislation and industry standards in the UK or overseas.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on a range of health and safety issues and matters, including
  • but not limited to, risk assessments, accident investigations, compliance and emergency planning.
  • Deliver health and safety awareness programmes to WBD and their employees to promote a strong safety culture within the workplace.
  • Help WBD understand that well developed safety systems, which focus on business efficiency are a business benefit rather than a business cost.
  • Assist WBD in achieving relevant health and safety certifications such as ISO 45001
  • Successfully build WBD relationships to promote the organisation and encourage new business opportunities.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of WBD standards across all projects and offices.
  • Ensure and maintain high levels of communication within the wider and WBD safety teams, including attendance at regular team meetings both face to face and online.
  • Work towards the achievement of agreed KPIs and where applicable WBD s SLAs.
  • Attend regular reviews with the WBD manager.
  • Share best practice, issues and concerns and participate in shared problem solving.
  • Remain up to date with new and upcoming health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Comply with and follow the WBD Health and safety management systems and applicable risk assessment and incident management systems which are in place.
  • Attend any relevant training as directed by your line manager, based on your annual training needs analysis and performance review.

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous work experience working in Health and Safety, with a proven track record of delivering high –quality health and safety advice and support.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and industry best practices. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification
  • Experience in completing health and safety audits and implementing action plans to meet audit findings.
  • Ability to clearly interpret and provide advice on health and safety and risk management issues to third parties.
  • Ability to prioritise work to ensure tasks are completed in an organised and timely fashion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS word, Excel and Project.
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly responding to business needs.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to understand a variety of working cultures, professions, businesses and industries
