Health and Safety Advisor – Navenby – Attractive package

ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor with immediate effect for our leading client based close to Navenby, in Lincolnshire.

Health and Safety Advisor:

Our client is currently seeking a proactive and detail–oriented Health and Safety Assistant to support our Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Department in promoting a safe and healthy working environment across all departments. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring compliance, conducting risk assessments, maintaining records, and supporting training initiatives to ensure the well–being of all staff, contractors, and visitors.

You will be working closely with our senior management teams on the implementation of best practice health, safety and environment policies and processes, liaising with clients, sub–contractors and field–based teams, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance of all health and safety polices, procedures and regulations.

Main Duties:

Conduct Routine Inspections

  • Perform regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards
  • Check safety equipment, signage, and PPE compliance

Assist with Risk Assessments

  • Support in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
  • Help identify control measures to minimise risks

Incident Reporting and Investigation

  • Record and report accidents, near–misses, and incidents
  • Assist in investigating incidents to determine causes and recommend improvements.
  • Collate and assess information on accident statistics

Maintain Health and Safety Records

  • Keep records of inspections, training, incident reports, and audits
  • Update safety documentation, registers, and compliance checklists

Support Training and Inductions

  • Help coordinate and deliver health and safety inductions for new starters

Promote Safety Awareness

  • Distribute health and safety communications and posters
  • Participate in health and well–being campaigns and toolbox talks

Assist in Policy and Procedure Updates

  • Ensure Policies and Procedures are in date health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure documentation is aligned with current legislation and company standards

Support Compliance Audits & Inspections

  • Assist in internal and external audits, providing requested documentation
  • Track actions arising from audits and ensure timely follow–up
  • Collate information from inspections to identify any trends

Liaise with Staff and Contractors

  • Help Project Managers on project H&S issues / requirements
  • Communicate health and safety requirements to employees and third parties
  • Ensure contractors follow site safety rules and procedures

Stay Informed on Legal Requirements

  • Keep updated on UK health and safety legislation and best practices
  • Assist in implementing changes resulting from legal updates
