Health and Safety Advisor

On behalf of our client based near Ipswich, we are searching for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their welcoming team. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and seeking continuous improvement of all Health & Safety standards. Experience with ISO systems or knowledge of Environmental, Safety or Sustainability principles is required and due to the nature of the role, travel will be involved and a UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Main duties:

  • Monitoring updates and changes to relevant legislation through established sources
  • Investigating new safety initiatives and produce a procedure and criteria for consideration and implementation
  • Conducting site inspections and liaising with contractors to make sure all legislation is adhered to
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Carrying out accident Investigations, writing reports & making recommendations
  • Supporting the E&Q Manager with the development and ongoing maintenance of ISO Management Systems
  • Providing cover and be a point of contact and source of information during management absence
  • Exploring new safety initiatives and developing procedures and criteria for their potential implementation
  • Conducting regular site inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement
  • Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments for all site activities
  • Managing accident reporting in accordance with RIDDOR regulations
