Job description

Hybrid Solutions Group was founded in 2013 on a simple idea: build a business that works for customers and staff alike. That idea still shapes how we work. We're thoughtful, accountable and we look after our people.

Hybrid Electrical Solutions is the Group's electrical and infrastructure contractor. We deliver specialist projects across highways, street lighting, power distribution, EV charging and associated civil engineering, alongside M&E work in commercial, residential, rail and public infrastructure settings. Much of our work happens on live roads, in occupied buildings and around electrical systems, where getting safety right first time really matters.

We're Kier's principal M&E partner on Transport for London's tunnels and pump stations contract, covering ten London road tunnels.

The role

Working closely with the SHEQ Manager, you'll be the day-to-day point of contact for health and safety across our engineers, managers and operational teams. You'll carry out site inspections and engineer compliance checks, keep training and competency records in order, coordinate onboarding, and make sure our risk assessments, RAMS and procedures stay current and audit-ready.

The role has been created to give the SHEQ Manager more time for strategic improvements, management system development and future ISO accreditation. It suits someone who is confident on site, organised with records and systems, and wants to grow with a developing safety function.

Where this role can take you
  • A growing function. As the business grows, there's scope to take on more responsibility within SHEQ, including management systems and ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 accreditation work.
  • Learn from an experienced SHEQ leader. Regular coaching and support from the SHEQ Manager.
  • Major infrastructure exposure. Work across highways, rail, street lighting, power and EV projects for major clients.
  • Support with qualifications. Support towards NEBOSH and progression through IOSH membership grades.
What you'll do
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across operational contracts.
  • Conduct engineer compliance inspections and support vehicle and asset compliance programmes.
  • Manage H&S training records and competency matrices, including HERS requirements, and track certification and refresher dates.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new starters across client and internal systems.
  • Support the preparation and review of RAMS for routine operational activities.
  • Review and maintain risk assessments, procedures and compliance documentation so they stay current, accurate and audit-ready.
  • Support document control, version control and policy reviews across the business.
  • Support maintenance and calibration schedules for operational equipment and assets.
  • Help close out corrective actions and audit findings, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with operational teams to promote a positive, proactive safety culture.
  • Support the SHEQ Manager in maintaining and developing management systems and compliance processes.
About you
  • TechIOSH membership.
  • Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, H&S Coordinator or compliance role.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in engineering, utilities, infrastructure, construction or other operational environments.
  • Excellent organisation and administration, with close attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using compliance systems.
  • Clear communication, and confidence engaging engineers and managers on site.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to operational sites.

Please note: this role is based in our office in Eltham.

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
  • HERS knowledge or accreditation experience.
  • NVQ OSH Level 3, working toward Level 5
  • Highways, utilities, electrical or infrastructure sector experience.
  • Experience supporting audits and management systems.
  • Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or other compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with mobile engineering teams.
What we offer
  • £42,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience
