Job description

Blue Arrow is currently working with a large public sector organisation to recruit 2 Health and Safety Advisors based in and around the outskirts of Glasgow. These roles involve working across various departments, offering a high level of variety. Both positions are permanent, with interviews and start dates to be arranged as soon as possible.

Salary:

£39,000 to £44,500

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Location:

Office / WFH / On-site

Key Skills and Experience:

• Developing and implementing compliant health and safety management systems
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical applications
• Managing health and safety in construction and/or utility sectors
• Producing risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments; conducting incident investigations, inspections, and audits; communicating statutory requirements to managers

Education:

• Hold or be working towards NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ, IOSH Graduate Membership, or related professional qualifications such as IEMA, IIRSM, or a relevant degree in Health & Safety or related field. Vocational qualifications like NEBOSH or IOSH are also desirable.

Key Duties:

• Address the impact of work on health and promote safety to prevent accidents
• Support the Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with good practice guidance
• Monitor, report, and review health and safety standards, advising stakeholders on compliance levels and reporting to appropriate bodies
• Review and develop health and safety policies to ensure they are current and compliant with legislation
• Provide health and safety advice, solutions, and coaching to managers and officers, ensuring they understand and meet their responsibilities
• Support the health and safety team through teamwork and flexibility
• Continuously improve service delivery and team performance
