Health, Safety & Environment Advisor

Our client is one of the UK's leading civil engineering contractors, delivering complex infrastructure projects across energy, transport, and construction. We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team, supporting both head office and live project sites.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE management systems.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting, ensuring lessons learned are shared.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, including supporting our behavioural safety programme BRAVE.
  • Maintain accurate HSE data and contribute to trend analysis for improvement.
  • Provide health & safety input into tenders and pre-qualifications.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) essential; membership of IOSH desirable.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and auditing skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
