Health and Safety Advisor

Eastleigh | Circa £45,000 + Car or Allowance

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a leading civils organisation to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. The role focuses on ensuring the safe delivery of a major infrastructure rollout on a long-term contract. The company has an excellent track record in health and safety, and this role is critical to its continued success.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

1. Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and staying updated with key legislative changes.
2. Engaging with managers to clarify responsibilities and addressing technical health and safety issues.
3. Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations, and continuously seeking areas for improvement in health and safety.
4. Engaging with clients and external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

1. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within civil engineering or utilities.
2. A NEBOSH Certificate and preferably membership of IOSH.
3. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
4. Strong technical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations.
