Job summary

Ross-shire Engineering Limited is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis, ensuring that all activities comply with Health and Safety legislation.

The role will involve site and construction site inspections/audits, risk assessments, COSHH tasks, and collaboration with engineers and delivery teams. Some travel to other sites is required.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Level 3 qualification is highly advantageous
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
  • Practical understanding of health & safety with focus on building relationships with delivery teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

  • Ensure activities are carried out in compliance with health & safety management systems
  • Provide assistance on health & safety matters to departments and individuals
  • Carry out health & safety inspections and/or audits at company premises and construction sites
  • Complete relevant health & safety inspections/audit reports and highlight issues/nonconformance
  • Assist engineers/site managers with risk assessments and safe working guidance
  • Produce COSHH assessments as required
  • Communicate and liaise with all departments within the business

What Are We Looking For?

RSE Control Systems have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis. Your role will involve ensuring that all RSE Control Systems companies activities are carried out in accordance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and that all persons affected either directly or indirectly are not subjected to avoidable risks.

Please note this position will include some travel to other sites and locations.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with company Health and Safety management systems
  • Provide assistance on all matters related to Health and Safety issues to departments and individuals within the business.
  • Carry out Health and Safety inspections and/or audits both at the companies premises, and construction sites, as directed by the QHSE Lead to ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and that persons are not placed in a hazardous environment.
  • Complete relevant Health & Safety inspections and/or audit reports highlighting any issues/nonconformance and issue the report to the relevant management team.
  • Assist and advise Engineers/Site Managers as appropriate with the preparation of Health & Safety risk assessments and matters of safe working and compliance as required
  • Produce COSHH assessments as required
  • Communicate and liaise fully with all departments within the business
What Do You Need?
  • NEBOSH general (Level 3) is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Practical understanding and approach to managing Health & Safety, with a focus on building relationships with delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
