Health and Safety Advisor

Reporting to: Safety Director

8am – 5pm Based in Bury St Edmunds

Remote Working on Request

We are a well-established Tier 2 Contractor working within the Utilities sector (Water, Power Generation, Gas Distribution, Petrochem)

We are looking to appoint a HSEQ Advisor, to work closely with our Safety Director, Project Managers and Site Supervisors

Typical Duties will include

· Carrying out regular site visits and inspections to an agreed format and tracking any actions that are required (Visits will be within the Anglian Water and Severn Trent Regions)

· Ensuring that safety related follow up actions are completed in a reasonable timescale

· Assisting in the collation of evidence required for external audits (Achilles, ISO Standards etc.)

· Co-ordinating Safety Meetings and producing minutes

· Producing and distributing regular safety alerts and toolbox talks and ensuring their delivery on sites.

· Assisting in investigating incident and accidents

· Assisting in updating Risk Assessments, Standard Procedures and other Safety related documentation

· Suggesting new training opportunities and equipment to reduce risks associated with activities

· Working towards the continuous improvement of the safety management systems

· Any other work that maybe reasonably assigned by the directors relating to Health and Safety.

Essential Qualification, Knowledge or Experience.

· Relevant CSCS Card

· Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points)

· Good Understanding of CDM and Health and Safety Legislation.

· Self-Motivated and able to feedback to the team in good time.

· Good Standard of Written and Spoke English

· Team player able to speak with a number of persons of different levels of understanding and ability.
