Job summary

Bromford is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to help colleagues work safely, confidently and compliantly while delivering services for communities. You will build trusted relationships with operational teams, provide practical guidance, and foster a positive safety culture across a large organisation managing homes and services.

You'll support incident reporting, audits, risk assessments and contractor management, contributing to effective decision-making and safe ways of working.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Working towards or committed to achieving Tech IOSH membership.
  • Experience applying health and safety principles within operational environments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Understanding of audits, inspections, risk management and incident investigation.
  • Awareness of contractor management processes and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Pragmatic and customer-focused approach to health and safety.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and IOSH progression.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, practical health and safety advice across the business to support decision-making and safe ways of working.
  • Support incident reporting, investigation and learning; assist with audits, inspections and assurance activities.
  • Identify hazards and risks and support the implementation of practical control measures.
  • Provide guidance on legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Contribute to contractor management processes including reviewing risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and permit-to-work arrangements.
  • Support the development of a positive and sustainable safety culture.
  • Ensure health and safety arrangements are applied consistently across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to turn health and safety requirements into straightforward, workable solutions.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Contractual base: Flexible across our offices

Operational requirement: Regular travel across the Bromford geography

Additional requirements: Full UK driving licence, and access to a vehicle

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work closely with managers and colleagues across the business, providing clear, practical and proportionate health and safety advice that supports effective decision-making and safe ways of working.
