Overview

Reporting to the Board of Trustees and School Governors, the Headteacher will provide professional leadership, vision, and management across all aspects of school life. You will be responsible for driving continued school improvement, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring compliance with Independent School Standards, and promoting the wellbeing and personal development of every pupil.

Lantern of Knowledge Muslim Boys' Secondary School is a small, one-form entry independent school with a strong track record of academic success, high standards of discipline, and a commitment to developing pupils both academically and personally within an Islamic ethos. We are now seeking an inspirational and dynamic Headteacher to lead the school into its next phase of growth and development. We are looking for a proven leader who can inspire and motivate others, uphold our values, and promote our ethos while engaging positively with the wider community. The successful candidate will bring:

Responsibilities
  • Strong senior leadership experience in a secondary school.
  • A graduate qualification and recognised QTS; NPQH is desirable.
  • A proven track record of raising standards and improving pupil outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Key Stages 3-4 and experience of curriculum and assessment leadership.
  • Experience of safeguarding leadership (DSL or Deputy DSL).
  • The ability to manage resources effectively, oversee finance and compliance, and support Trustees with clear and evidence-based reporting.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equality, SEND provision, and pupil wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to represent the school within the community.
