About the Role

The CEO of Southend East Community Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Headteacher at Hinguar Primary School and Nursery, starting on 1 January 2026.

The Headteacher will oversee the internal organisation, management, and control of the school, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, Trust policies (including the annual budget), and the principles, ethos, and working relationships of the Trust.

Working closely with the CEO, COO, Academy Committee, senior leadership team, and staff, the Headteacher will provide strategic leadership for the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support the school's and SECAT's vision, values, and priorities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, practices, and procedures.
• Lead and manage teaching and learning across the school.
• Ensure accurate self-evaluation to inform improvement planning.
• Maintain overall responsibility for safeguarding and promoting pupils' welfare.
• Participate as a member of the SECAT Executive Team to achieve strategic objectives outlined in the Trust's Strategic Plan.
