The Governing Board of Curry Rivel Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and collaborative leader to take our school forward into a new, exciting chapter. We are a successful and thriving Church of England school located in the heart of the village of Curry Rivel in rural Somerset, with strong community links and a commitment to providing the best possible education and experiences for all children. About us

Curry Rivel Primary School has 144 pupils on roll with a further 50+ children in our Nursery setting. We serve the village of Curry Rivel and its surrounding villages although families from out of catchment travel to our school to enjoy our inclusive and happy school family. Set in a beautiful village location our historic Victorian building is complemented by modern facilities, including a large school hall and extensive school grounds.

We offer a creative curriculum that encourages Caring, Curious and Confident learners supported by additional enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.

At the heart of the school ethos are our Christian values offorgiveness, kindness, respect, thankfulness and perseverance. These guide our approach to learning and relationships, and help the children develop into thoughtful, confident young people.

About you

We are looking for a Headteacher who is:

  • a passionate educator with a clear vision for inspiring learning and raising achievement across the whole primary age range including EYFS
  • a visible, approachable leader who values teamwork and shared success
  • committed to nurturing the Christian ethos of the school while welcoming families of all faiths and none
  • an excellent communicator skilled in building strong relationships with pupils, staff, families, governors and the wider community
  • strategic and forward-thinking, with the ability to lead with both courage and compassion
  • inclusive and committed to ensuring every child thrives
  • demonstrates inspirational leadership and a collaborative approach
  • values staff wellbeing and professional development
