About Us

From the super creative team behind Crispin
and Bistro Freddie, the newly opened Canal is our latest venture, a vibrant,
waterside restaurant and bar located on the edge of Westbourne Park. Built
around seasonal cooking, natural wines, great music, and genuine hospitality,
Canal is quickly becoming a local hub and destination in its own right. We’re
now looking for a passionate, polished, and confident Head Waiter to join our
growing team and help us bring the Canal experience to life.

What You’ll
Be Doing

• Leading from the Front: Run
  sections with confidence, support junior team members, and lead by example
  with service, pace, and professionalism.
• Creating Great Guest Experiences: Build
  relationships with regulars, help shape the flow of service, and make sure
  every guest feels seen, valued, and welcome.
• Supporting the Team: Work
  closely with the General Manager and Assistant Manager to maintain high
  standards and create a fun, supportive environment for the FOH team.
• Service Excellence:
  Ensure smooth, polished service throughout every shift, from welcoming
  guests and taking orders to coordinating with the kitchen and responding
  to feedback.
• Training & Mentoring: Help
  train new starters, share your knowledge, and support your teammates in
  growing their confidence and skills.
• Collaborating with the Kitchen: Work
  closely with the chefs to understand the menu and help bring dishes to the
  table with energy and knowledge.
• Staying Present & Observant:
  Anticipate guest needs, spot issues before they arise, and keep the floor
  running with calm confidence.

What We’re
Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar floor-based role within a
  high-quality, busy restaurant
• A genuine love for hospitality and making people feel welcome
• Strong knowledge of food and wine, with a willingness to learn more
• A team player with great energy, attention to detail, and a calm,
  guest-focused approach
• Confident in leading sections and supporting junior team members
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while keeping a
  cool head
